Carbon Shady x EIZO - Getting Started

Getting Started: Installation Guide

Thank you for choosing the Carbon Shady for your Eizo monitor. This guide will walk you through the quick and easy steps to install the Carbon Shady on both 24" and 27" Eizo models. The installation uses magnetic mounting for a sleek, tool-free setup.

We suggest you read this guide until the end before receiving your shade.

What's Included:

  1. Carbon Shady (Sun Shade)
  2. 12 x Self-adhesive Steel Plates
    • 4 for the top edge
    • 4 for the bottom edge
    • 2 for each side edge

Step 1: Prepare the Monitor

1. Clean the Surface
Before applying the steel plates, make sure the edges of your monitor are clean. Use a microfiber cloth and a mild cleaner to gently wipe down the top, bottom, and side edges of the monitor.
    2. Place the Monitor Face Down
Place the monitor face down on a flat, soft surface, such as a table with a cloth or foam padding, to protect the screen during installation.

Step 2: Align the Carbon Shady

      1. Position the Shade on the Top Edge
Start by aligning the Carbon Shady to the top edge of the monitor. The outer hinges of the sun shade should align with the sides of the monitor.

      2. Place the Steel Plates
Take 4 of the self-adhesive steel plates and place them evenly along the top edge of the monitor, ensuring they align with the magnets on the Carbon Shady. Press firmly to secure.

Step 3: Repeat for All Sides

        1. Bottom Edge
Align the Carbon Shady with the bottom edge of the monitor. Attach the 4 steel plates to the bottom, making sure they are aligned with the shade's magnets.

        2. Side Edges

        • Align the side panel of the Carbon Shady with the edge of the screen.
        • Place 2 steel plates on each side edge, near the top and bottom corners. Ensure they align with the magnets on the side panels of the shade.

        3. Press Firmly
After placing the plates on all sides, press firmly on each one to ensure proper adhesion.

        4. Allow the Adhesive to Set
Wait at least 15 minutes for the adhesive to cure before proceeding.

Step 4: Attaching the Carbon Shady

          1. Magnetic Mounting
Once the steel plates are in place, align the Carbon Shady with the monitor’s edges. The magnets will securely snap into place on all sides, holding the shade in place.

          2. Check for Stability

Verify that the Carbon Shady is securely attached and aligned properly.

Switching Between Landscape and Portrait Mode

            1. Detach and Reattach
To switch between orientations, gently pull the Carbon Shady away from the steel plates, rotate the monitor, and reattach the shade by aligning it with the plates.

              Care and Maintenance

              Cleaning
Clean the Carbon Shady with a soft, lint-free cloth. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.

              Storage
When not in use, store the Carbon Shady in a dry, safe place by detaching it from your monitor.
