The Slate 7 (GL-MT3600) and the Beryl AX (GL-MT3000) can connect to the internet using any existing Wi-Fi network — a home/office router, a 4G/5G portable hotspot, or even your phone’s personal hotspot. You’ll do this through the Repeater (STA) function.
Once you've done this, any device that connects to your Slate 7s main or guest network will have internet access.
Follow these quick steps:
1. Open the Admin Panel
-
Connect your laptop or iPad to the routers Wi-Fi network.
-
Open your browser and go to:
http://192.168.8.1 or http://192.168.8.1/?init=1#/login -
Log in with your admin password.
2. Navigate to the Repeater Section
In the main dashboard, go to INTERNET find the Repeater card.

If it says “Repeater (STA) is disabled”, click Connect.
3. Scan for Available Networks
The Slate 7 will display a list of reachable Wi-Fi networks.

This includes:
-
normal home/office routers
-
4G/5G portable Wi-Fi hotspots
-
mobile phone personal hotspots (iPhone, Android)
Tip: If you don’t see your phone, unlock the phone and make sure the hotspot is turned on.
Find the network you want to use and click it.
4. Enter the Wi-Fi Password
Type the password exactly as it appears on your router/hotspot/phone.
Press Join.
After 5–10 seconds, the Slate 7 will connect.
5. Confirm the Connection
Once connected, the Repeater tile will show the network name along with connection details (Screenshot #3):
-
IP address
-
Gateway
-
DNS servers
-
BSSID
You’ll also see:
-
A green dot (connected)
-
Options: Disable, Switch Network, Modify
At this point, the Slate 7 is online and can:
-
download packages
-
sync time
-
serve Gelatin Viewer to any device connected to it
-
act as a small local NAS if you’ve enabled SMB
6. Switching Networks Later
If you need to change Wi-Fi (e.g., switching from studio Wi-Fi to your phone hotspot), just click:
Repeater → Switch Network → Select another network
