EIZO CG2400SV: SDI lands on a 24" ColorEdge — what it means for editing suites, DIT carts, and client village.

TL;DR: EIZO’s new ColorEdge CG2400SV adds SDI in/out to a calibrated 24.1" WUXGA reference display with HLG/PQ HDR, 98% DCI-P3, and 10-bit with 16-bit 3D LUT—so you can plug straight into camera/live video without converters and still trust the color.

Why SDI on a ColorEdge matters now

For stills/post houses, ColorEdge = reliability and accuracy. For video crews, SDI is the lingua franca of set and broadcast: robust BNC connectors, long single-coax runs, and uncompressed signal delivery from cameras, routers, and recorders. With SDI input and output on the CG2400SV, you can finally drop the HDMI/DP converters and put an EIZO directly in the camera → village → suite pipeline.

Bottom line: one monitor that speaks post and production.

Color you can trust (now with HDR that actually helps)

  • Wide gamut for cinema: 98% DCI-P3 coverage with BT.2020 support keeps your look consistent from set to finish.

  • Smooth gradients: 10-bit display driven by a 16-bit 3D LUT—no banding when you’re judging skies, skin, or compression-sensitive areas.

  • HDR done right: built-in presets for HLG and PQ at up to 400 cd/m² and 1800:1 contrast—great for meaningful HDR preview without rolling in a giant reference monitor.

  • Self-calibrating: integrated sensor + factory calibration report maintain accuracy over time with minimal fuss.

Where it fits in your workflow

Editing / finishing suites

A compact 24.1" 1920×1200 panel is ideal for cut, grade-assist, VFX checks, and QC, with uniformity correction and flexible refresh from 24–60 Hz for proper cadence.

On set (DIT, video village, director’s monitor)

SDI in/out means clean integration with cameras and routers—no dongles. Bring ColorEdge accuracy to client village so feedback matches what you’ll see in the suite.

Mobile / agency review

The 24" footprint travels well, and our Carbon Fibre hood reduces flare, and KVM support keeps your cart tidy when you’re hopping between sources.

CG2400SV vs CG2400S (which one should you buy?)

  • CG2400SV → for video-first teams that need SDI I/O plus HDR presets (HLG/PQ) and all the usual ColorEdge calibration/pro uniformity.

  • CG2400S → for USB-C workflows where a calibrated 24" monitor lives primarily on a computer (photography/design/video editing), without SDI.

If your pipeline touches cameras, switchers, or SDI routers, get the SV. If you’re computer-only (aka photography), the S may be enough.

Accessory note: our 24" Carbon Shady fits the CG2400SV and CG2400S

Working in bright client areas or location? Our Carbon Shade for EIZO 24" is 24 mm deeper than the stock hood, giving you more control.  The carbon fibre construction means it's solid and lightweight, and the magnetic mounting makes it easy to mount and switch between landscape and portrait orientations.  It fits the CG2400SV and CG 2400S and cuts reflections fast—great for carts and village.

FAQs

Does SDI mean I can skip converters on set?
Yes—plug SDI straight from camera or router into the monitor and stay in the SDI chain in client village or the suite.

Is it bright enough for HDR work?
It’s designed for meaningful HDR preview (HLG/PQ) up to 400 nits; for final HDR mastering you’ll still step up to a larger HDR reference if your delivery requires it.

Will it match my grading monitor?
That’s the point: integrated self-calibration and factory calibration keep it honest so set reviews align with the suite.
